Frequently Asked Questions
How do I connect Tunefin to my Jellyfin server?
On the sign-in screen, enter your server's full URL (including http:// or https://, and port if required, e.g. https://jellyfin.example.com or http://192.168.1.50:8096), followed by your Jellyfin username and password. Tunefin communicates directly with your server — no intermediate proxy or account is used.
Tunefin can't reach my server. What should I check?
Ensure your iPhone has connectivity to your server (on local Wi-Fi or connected via your home VPN/reverse proxy). Double-check the URL format and port. Tunefin supports self-signed SSL certificates as well as plain HTTP on private local subnets.
How do synced lyrics work?
Tunefin supports synchronized lyrics (.lrc format) both stored alongside your audio files and served via Jellyfin's lyrics metadata plugins. When playing a track, tap the lyrics button on the Now Playing screen to open full-screen karaoke-style synchronized scrolling.
How do offline downloads work?
You can download individual songs, albums, or full playlists for offline listening. Tap the download icon next to any song or at the top of an album or playlist. Downloaded tracks can be accessed anytime from the Downloads tab without needing a network connection.
How do I use Tunefin with Apple CarPlay?
Connect your iPhone to your CarPlay-supported vehicle via cable or wireless CarPlay. Tunefin will appear on your vehicle's dashboard, giving you access to your Recently Played tracks, playlists, and playback controls safely while driving.
Does Tunefin collect any personal data?
No. Tunefin has zero analytics, zero advertising SDKs, and no tracking. Your server address and authentication tokens are kept strictly in your device's secure Keychain and never sent to Meta IT Labs or any third party.
